The Boston Celtics entered Sunday with the slimmest of leads over the Orlando Magic for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. Maintaining that edge wouldn't be easy for Boston, which matched up with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies had an uneven start to the new year, alternating wins and losses in their previous four games.

Memphis' scoring continues to be a bit of an issue. The Grizzlies averaged 90.8 points in that four-game stretch, and their 95.8-point scoring average on the year is the lowest among the Western Conference's top eight seeds.

Boston, which tied for ninth in opponent scoring (99.0 PPG) entering Sunday, presented a good test for the Grizzlies.

In the end, Memphis walked away with a 101-98 victory.
