The Los Angeles Clippers and Charlotte Hornets have been trending in opposite directions as of late. L.A. entered Saturday's game riding a seven-game winning streak with six of those wins coming on the road, including a prior triumph over Charlotte.

Meanwhile, things have fallen apart for the Hornets since a promising 14-8 start. Their current five-game losing streak has dropped their record below .500, and they've also fallen out of the Eastern Conference's top eight. They sought a marquee victory over L.A. to get back on track.

In the end, the Clippers won 97-83.
