LeBron James Congratulates Leah Still on Final Cancer Treatment
LeBron James and Leah Still have a special relationship.
For Christmas, the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar gave the daughter of Houston Texans defensive tackle Devon Still a signed jersey and told her how much she inspires him. Leah was diagnosed with pediatric cancer in 2014.
James also put on a show for the Stills against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Leah was wearing the jersey LBJ gave her.
After pouring in a game-high 34 points in Cleveland’s 121-115 win, here’s what the King said when asked “if Leah's presence affected his output,” per ESPN.com’s Dave McMenamin:
"Absolutely. I knew she was going to be there tonight, and her and Zhuri, my baby girl, are my two favorite women in the world. They're just unbelievable. I know my mom and my wife will be a little bit jealous, but they got to take a backseat to those two. Just her strength and her courage and what she's been through over the last few years, man, it's uplifting to all of us, and it's always great seeing her, for sure.
"
On Wednesday, Devon Still said Leah’s last treatment would come Friday. When the day came, James offered some heartwarming congratulations:
"You go girl!!! Last treatment session today was a success and we're off and running like never before. Continue to inspire me as well as so many others. Uncle LeBron loves you so much and we're going to play Barbie house/tea party all together very soon. U, Daddy, Zhuri and Uncle LeBron.
"
So sweet. Hopefully James shares a few pictures of those Barbie house sessions and tea parties.
