The Sacramento Kings' pursuit of a long-awaited playoff spot in the Western Conference continued Tuesday night against the Dallas Mavericks.

Sacramento has closed the gap on the No. 8 spot as of late, but it faced a true test Tuesday in the form of a likely playoff-bound team led by future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki.

The Mavericks would go on to register the win, 117-116, in double overtime.
