The Chicago Bulls shut down the New York Knicks with a convincing 108-81 win at the United Center on Friday in a renewal of one of the NBA's biggest rivalries.

The Knicks ended a four-game losing streak on Tuesday against Detroit but are now 15-19. They've hovered around .500 all year—much better than their franchise-worst season a year ago—but haven't been able to get over the hump.

The Bulls endured a rough stretch, losing four of five games, and have responded with three consecutive victories over Eastern Conference contenders Toronto, Indiana and New York in convincing fashion.
