Head coach Rick Carlisle said Harris is a game-time decision Saturday against the Chicago Bulls, according to Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com
How Harris' Injury Impacts Mavericks
Rotoworld weighed in on the setback: “He had a lingering right hamstring issue back in 2011-12 and a left hamstring issue after that, so it's been a while since Harris had this issue. Still, he just can't stay healthy and will probably miss time. More minutes will go to Raymond Felton and J.J. Barea.”
Harris is averaging 7.8 points and 1.9 assists a night, but the timing is unfortunate for Dallas. He scored in double figures in each of the previous two games and even racked up six steals against the Phoenix Suns in Monday’s outing.
Mike Peasley of Dallas Mavericks Radio Network took note of Harris’ recent play after the injury: “Just when Devin Harris is starting to turn things around this year he leaves tonight's game with a hamstring injury.”
Harris has never played a full 82 games in his entire career, and he only reached 70 games one time since 2006-07. (He played in 76 contests last season for the Mavericks.) If he is forced to miss significant time, Barea will likely be the primary point guard off the bench behind the starter, Deron Williams.
