Reggie Jackson Records Rare Stat Line in Pistons History

Bleacher Report MilestonesDec 3, 2015

Detroit Pistons guard Reggie Jackson had 34 points and 16 assists in Wednesday's 127-122 overtime win over the Phoenix Suns, becoming the first Pistons player since Isiah Thomas in 1987-88 to record 30 or more points and 15 or more assists in a single game, per ESPN Stats & Info.

To be fair, Jackson did require the extra period to reach his historic stat line after finishing the fourth quarter with just 26 points and 15 assists.

Thomas' most recent 30-plus-point, 15-plus-assist game didn't require overtime, but it did come in a wild affair between the Pistons and Denver Nuggets on Jan. 2, 1988, with the Pistons ultimately falling by a score of 151-142 in regulation, per Basketball-Reference.com.

That game marked Thomas' fourth 30-15 performance in a period spanning less than two full calendar years, and it was arguably his most prolific game of the bunch, as he somehow managed 40 points and 17 assists in the loss.

While Jackson probably won't ever go for 40 and 17, the Pistons are surely pleased with his current 2015-16 averages of 19.9 points and 6.7 assists.
