Daily Fantasy Basketball 2015: NBA DFS DraftKings Best Player Picks for Nov. 29
If you're just starting to play daily fantasy, there's one important distinction to make between contest types. There are two basic concepts in daily fantasy: 50/50s and Guaranteed Prize Pools (or GPPs). Now, there are variations on both types; double-ups and head-2-heads are essentially the same as a 50/50. You're trusting your team to finish in the top half of the group.
In a GPP, you generally need your team to finish in the top 20 percent to cash and top one percent to make serious dough. It's a high-risk, high-reward proposition.
The majority of the DraftKings contests I play are 50/50s. The reason? I believe it to be a safer path to success in the long run. As a resut, most of the lineups I write about are suggestions for you to play in that type of contest. This lineup is no different.
| Position | Player | Price | Opponent |
| PG | Kyle Lowry | $8,500 | vs. Pho |
| SG | Vince Carter | $3,000 | vs. Phi |
| SF | Paul George | $10,100 | @ LAL |
| PF | JaMychal Green | $3,600 | vs. Phi |
| C | Marc Gasol | $7,100 | vs. Phi |
| G | Reggie Jackson | $7,000 | @ Bkn |
| F | Robert Covington | $6,000 | @ Mem |
| Utility | Ian Mahinmi | $4,700 | @ LAL |
Kyle Lowry ($8,500) vs. Phoenix Suns
Lowry is the perfect play for a 50/50 tonight. He maintains an extremely high floor for a player who costs under $9,000. Check out his last 10 outings, courtesy of Statmuse.

His floor is a 36.5 fantasy point night. Take that consistency and add in the blistering pace of the Phoenix Suns (tops in the league this season, per Basketball Reference), and you've got a recipe for success.
Paul George ($10,100) at Los Angeles Lakers

Over the past 10 games, PG-13 has risen in price from $8,100 to $10,100. That is a massive leap! To me, though, it doesn't matter. He's worth the price against the Lakers.
He's on fire from downtown, making 35 of his past 65 shots from beyond the arc over his past nine games, according to DraftKings.
The Lakers have the third worst defensive rating in the league according to Basketball Reference. They also allow the fifth most points to opposing small forwards and the 11th most points to opposing power forwards, per DraftKings. George should see time at both positions. It will be hilarious when Julius Randle and Brandon Bass chase Paul George around the perimeter.
Robert Covington ($6,000) at Memphis Grizzlies

Robert Covington did everything he could to help the 76ers notch their first win of the season against Houston on Friday. The man had 28 points, five assists, seven boards and eight steals! Unfortunately, James Harden went for 50 and the Sixers suffered an all-too-familiar fate.
I'm not suggesting Covington will have a game like that in Memphis. But he's played 35 minutes per game over the last four contests, and he's the team's most reliable outside scorer.
Stack the Z-Bo-less Grizzlies
If Zach Randolph indeed does not play, I love Marc Gasol and the boys with an increase in minutes and usage rate. The team is undeniably worse without its power forward, but most of those possessions will go to Gasol. He's a much better passer than Z-Bo, and they should be able to score against a Philly team that could go down as the worst team of all time.
