How Gobert's Injury Impacted Jazz
Gobert, 23, has blossomed into one of the NBA's best defensive centers.
"That's my goal, to be one of the best at my position this year," Gobert told Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders prior to the season. "Then, in a few years, I hope to be one of the best players overall. That's what I'm working hard for every day. I'm trying to do whatever I can to make my team better because I really think winning is the most important thing."
Gobert has kept a largely clean injury sheet. He suffered an ankle sprain in November that sidelined him temporarily but played in all 82 games in 2014-15. His most extended absences from Utah were during his rookie season when he was playing for the D-League's Bakersfield Jam.
