Duncan Passes Parish for 7th Place on All-Time Rebounding List

Bleacher Report MilestonesNov 12, 2015

San Antonio Spurs center Tim Duncan grabbed the 14,716th rebound of his regular-season career during the second quarter of Wednesday's 113-101 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, passing Boston Celtics legend Robert Parish for sole possession of seventh place on the NBA's all-time rebounds list, per NBA on Twitter.

The 39-year-old future Hall of Famer reached the milestone with just over two minutes remaining in the second quarter when Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard tried a difficult shot in traffic, giving Duncan an easy rebound off the front of the rim.

It was an otherwise relatively quiet night for the San Antonio mainstay, as he finished with 12 points, six rebounds, two assists, two blocks, a steal and a turnover in just 21 minutes.

Though still one of the league's better big men when on the court, Duncan has seen his playing time scaled back even further following the offseason addition of forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who had a mediocre night in his highly anticipated return to Portland.

Aldridge made nine of his 18 field-goal attempts in a 23-point showing, but he only had six rebounds, two assists and one block, with four turnovers in 35 minutes.

In any case, Duncan figures to climb higher up the rebounds list by the end of the season, as he only needs 251 more to tie Hall of Famer Karl Malone (14,968) in sixth place.
