Nike Air Jordan 7 Retro 'Sweater' Release Date Schedule, Pics and Retail Price
| Saturday, November 14 | $190 |
Nike once again pays homage to the 23rd anniversary of the Air Jordan 7 with this weekend's release of the Retro "Sweater" colorway of the iconic shoe.
It's a wacky array of colors on a legendary design, the final iteration of the year giving sneakerheads yet another option in the series.
Here's a look at the release details, per Sneaker Bar Detroit:
The Sole Supplier provided a look at the shoe:
It's an eye-catching affair, right?
So, too, was the epic 1992 commercial that inspired the concoction. Folks will remember the advertisement, which pitted Michael Jordan against Larry Bird, the former in quite the interesting attire:
Nike knocked the colors out of the park, to say the least.
The familiar trappings are all there. The Jumpman rests on the side of the shoe, a university red splashed on the white. There's one on the bottom, too, against the white and bright concord.
Sneaker Bar Detroit looked at multiple angles:
Not only does the tongue still have the familiar "Air Jordan" splashed across it, but the back still features the signature pull tab and "23" logo.
SneakerPeeks.com provided the zoom:
As it always seems to do, Nike has breathed new life into a classic design and—bonus points—weaved in a bit of history to a good-looking shoe with a fitting theme.
There's nothing wrong with honoring the past and throwing new editions of legendary designs on the market, especially when it's done this well.
This one in particular goes beyond just a fitting kick for a '90s-themed party—it's a Jordan 7, meaning it's applicable in most scenarios and will perform on the hardwood.
Sneakerheads can get their hands on the shoe starting Saturday.
