Cavaliers' James Becomes Youngest to Reach 25,000 Points

Bleacher Report MilestonesNov 4, 2015

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James earned a piece of NBA history with his fourth-quarter dunk in Monday's 107-100 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, becoming the youngest player (30 years, 307 days) in league history to reach 25,000 career points, per Sportsnet Stats.

James entered the game with 24,979 points, needing just 21 more to become the 20th member of the NBA's 25,000-point club.

Sitting at 20 points on the night, James went over the mark on his final basket of the game, a dunk that was assisted by guard Matthew Dellavedova with eight minutes, seven seconds remaining in the final quarter.

James thus finished the contest with 25,001 career points, having reached the milestone mark at a younger age than both Kobe Bryant (31 years, 151 days) and Wilt Chamberlain (31 years, 186 days).

There's a big drop-off after the first three players, with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (33 years, 249 days) and Michael Jordan (33 years, 287 days) rounding out the top five.

Of course, James required 915 regular-season appearances to reach 25,000 points, whereas Chamberlain only needed 691 games, followed by Jordan (782) and Abdul-Jabbar (889), per Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN Stats & Info).

James does still take the No. 4 spot if you count by games, having barely edged out Oscar Robertson (917).
