Zeller Diagnosis Revealed
Monday, Nov. 2
The Hornets announced Zeller is dealing with dehydration ahead of Tuesday's game.
Earlier in the day, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reported Zeller had lost 10 pounds "unexpectedly" and was undergoing tests. Bonnell also passed along comments from Hornets head coach Steve Clifford, who said the big man tested negative for mononucleosis.
How Zeller Impacts Hornets
Zeller hasn't quite lived up to his billing as the No. 4 overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. Although he possesses undeniable offensive skills and deft shooting touch, the 23-year-old lacks a thick build—a problem that may unfortunately be exacerbated by his sudden weight loss.
Marvin Williams starts over Zeller at the 4 for Charlotte, who may get a more extended look at rookie lottery pick Frank Kaminsky in the frontcourt rotation for the time being if Zeller's minutes are limited.
