Laureen IratOct 28, 2015

Wednesday kicks off Day 2 of the NBA opening week, and after Tuesday night's festivities, we have a lot to look forward to!

To start the 14-game lineup, the Orlando Magic hosted the Washington Wizards, making this the second time the Magic have faced the Wizards for their home opener.

The Magic ended the preseason on a strong note with a 6-2 record, while the Wizards ended with a record of 4-3. While not too much attention is typically placed on the preseason, it definitely gives us a glimpse of which direction each team is heading during the early stages of this year.

The Wizards hit the ground running in the first few minutes of the game, leading the Magic 18-9 at the 5:23 mark. The Magic were able to catch up, closing out the first quarter with a 31-29 lead due to standout play by rookie Mario Hezonja (eight points) and Aaron Gordon (six rebounds).

The Wizards were able to regain the lead in the second quarter, going on a 10-4 run to regain the lead. At the half, the Wizards lead the Magic 53-51.

The young Magic roster kept the Wizards on their toes throughout the night, with energetic and highlight-reel plays from both Hezonja and Aaron Gordon. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the the back court of the Wizards' John Wall and Bradley Beal. Even though the Magic had the last possession of the game, a missed shot by Vuvevic sealed the deal, with the Wizards taking home the 88-87 win.

John Wall scored 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter alone, and finished the game with seven rebounds, six assists, three steals, and five blocks.

Bradley Beal lead all scorers with 24 points and six rebounds.

Magic's Victor Oladipo finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Orlando Magic will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, October 30 at 7:00 ET

The Washington Wizards will visit the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday, October 30 at 8:00 ET.
