Under Armour Curry Two 'Dubnation' Release Date, Pics and Retail Price

Tyler ConwayJun 7, 2018

The Golden State Warriors boast one of the best (if not the best) home-court experiences in the league. The nickname "The Roaracle" didn't just come about because it's fun; it's rooted in the Bay Area's crazed reaction to any time the Warriors make a significant playoff run.

These Warriors, of course, are coming off their first NBA championship in 40 years. The fans played a large part the whole season, as Golden State dropped just two regular-season games at home and carried home-court advantage to the title.

Even Lakers legend Jerry West acknowledges the Warriors as the best fanbase in basketball, per Matt Moore of CBS Sports:

"

Oh, much better than LA fans, OK? They don't ever leave the game. Once we moved into Staples Center, our fan base changed, I thought. It's a completely different kind of fan than Los Angeles. Los Angeles has a lot of corporate fans there, whole different people sat in different seats. You can go up to Oracle right now and you'll see the same fans in the same seats every night. The fans in Los Angeles are great, but I've never seen fans like this here.

"

We use this preamble to compliment the Warriors fanbase because star Stephen Curry is about to do the same in a big way. As part of the rollout to his Curry Two launch with Under Armour, the reigning MVP will release a "Dub Nation" colorway Oct. 27 ($130).

Named to honor the Roaracle faithful, the "Dub Nation" colorway is as expected. It's a full Warriors look that was meant to be worn while donning a home Curry replica. The blue mesh upper is accented by a yellow inside the mesh and at the sole, while an even darker blue at the heel sticks out just enough from the Warriors base to contrast the yellow even more.

Drawing largely positive reviews since its release, the Curry Two is the flagship of Under Armour's basketball brand. Signed to a value contract during the nadir of his NBA career, Curry's star has risen right alongside the Maryland-based apparel maker. After his MVP season, Under Armour went all in with Curry by signing him to a new deal that carries an equity in the company.

"Stephen is a once-in-a-generation talent and has unprecedented influence on the game of basketball,” said Adam Peake, Under Armour’s executive vice president for global marketing, in a statement, per Jeff Barker of the Baltimore Sun. “His work ethic, uncompromising self-belief, and commitment to the community are characteristics that make Stephen the perfect partner to ignite the growth of Under Armour in the sport of basketball and around the world.”

So far, the approach has worked. The Curry Two has drawn far more attention than its predecessor, which was a good seller but didn't have quite the same draw. Curry's ascent to MVP and champion will go a long way toward making this a successful two-way partnership.

Now the people in the stands who stuck by Curry through his injury issues and watched his ascent will have yet another way to support their franchise face.
