NFL Odds Week 6: Last-Minute Betting Guide, Spread and Over-Under Analysis

Justis MosquedaOct 18, 2015

There is no London game that kicks off during the ungodly hours of the morning. We also don't have to watch Brandon Weeden, Nick Foles or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense this week. This has the makings of an elite Sunday in football watching.

The two things I enjoy the most are making money and sitting down for an entire weekend shuffling through channels. Ideally, I'd like to do both at the same time.

I've studied both the point spreads and totals in an attempt to give you that satisfaction. We'll also cover the movement of point spreads throughout the week, give picks on both the spread and totals and include up-to-date weather and injury reports.

Over-Under Picks

3 of 5

New England @ Indianapolis: Under 55

Fifty-five is just too many points. Only San Diego at Green Bay and New York Giants at Philadelphia are also above 50 points this week. No other games currently sit above 45 points. I know everyone is excited about Tom Brady taking down the Indianapolis Colts due to Deflategate, but you would have gone 5-10-1 during the Patriots' Super Bowl regular season last year making the over bet here.

San Diego @ Green Bay: Under 50.5

This is based on the health of Davante Adams. If he can go, the Packers are going to put up points again. If not, Green Bay has shown to get itself into trouble on the outside this year. This game could be a lot sloppier than most expect.

Cincinnati @ Buffalo: Under 50.5

If Tyrod Taylor can't go or is limited by his knee injury, it's going to be hard for the Buffalo Bills to score. On the defensive side of the ball, only the New England Patriots have scored a ton of points on the Bills this season. There's an off chance that this is the Bengals' letdown game after their emotional win last week.

Injury Reports

5 of 5

Tyrod Taylor, QB, Buffalo

Every key skill player has been dinged up for the Buffalo Bills during different points of the seasons. Taylor apparently has an MCL issue, which some said would keep him out for weeks. Currently, he's not officially out, but to keep up with the Cincinnati Bengals in the air, he'll need to be 100 percent.

J.J. Watt, DE, Houston

Everyone's favorite interior defensive lineman has come down with an illness and is questionable. This would be a huge blow to the defensive line of the Houston Texans, considering the health of outside linebacker and former first overall pick Jadeveon Clowney. The Jaguars were home dogs against the Texans for stretches during the week. I feel even better about that bet after hearing about these injuries.

Trent Williams, LT, Washington

Washington has been credited for an improving offensive line this season, but it's hard to make up for losing a left tackle. Williams is going through the concussion protocol and will miss this week's game. As a result, Kirk Cousins will throw behind an offensive line that is downgrading from an All-Pro player to someone off the bench. I'm not feeling great about the Redskins offense.

Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay

Adams is a much bigger deal than people realize. Without him and Jordy Nelson, the Green Bay Packers are not doing well when tested to win one-on-one outside. If I would have told you in March two of a team's three receivers would be James Jones and Ty Montgomery, who was thought of as a reach specialist as a third-round pick, you wouldn't expect that team to win many games in the air. Adams is going to be a game-time decision and may be the difference between a tight game and a blowout versus San Diego.
