Porter was in the Wizards' starting lineup on Monday against Boston, according to Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post.
Injury Was Minor Setback to Porter's Progression
In just his third NBA season, Porter has continued to grow within the Wizards organization, becoming a starting small forward in Washington.
A wing player with plenty of size, Porter has exhibited a nice shot to complement a large, physical frame that allows him drive to the basket. He's on pace for career highs this season, averaging 12.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
Porter has expressed his desire to contribute in any way possible while in the starting lineup, speaking with Castillo:
"Things won’t go your way all the time. If my shooting isn’t going, I’m going to try to play good defense. I’m not going to let my shooting [hinder] my performance. I can always come back from a bad shooting performance. For me, it’s about staying confident and continue to play good defense. That’s something that propels my offense. So that’s just something I’m trying to do to get me going.
"
The Wizards have had a problem getting going this season, and having Porter back in the lineup is a encouraging sign.
