Andy Dalton, AJ Green, Tyler Eifert's Post-Week 5 Fantasy Advice

Daniel KramerOct 11, 2015

The Cincinnati Bengals overcame a late deficit in Sunday’s 27-24 overtime win against the Seattle Seahawks, with key contributions from a few of their fantasy playmakers.

Quarterback Andy Dalton did it all, rushing for 18 yards and a touchdown while tossing for 311 yards and a pair of scores to tight end Tyler Eifert as well.

That Dalton scored a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter and wasn’t afraid to run for one shows his viability. And he’s surprisingly owned in just 74.8 percent of leagues. Dalton has given an ample sample size of his worth as a must-start commodity, regardless of the opposition.

Dalton and Eifert have arguably accounted for the biggest fantasy surprises at their respective positions. Dalton is now the highest-scoring fantasy quarterback, with an average of 22.4 points per game. Eifert (11.8 points per game) is also first among tight ends, though Rob Gronkowski had yet to play Sunday by the time the Bengals game ended.

Receiver A.J. Green was limited to six catches for 78 yards and just eight targets, resulting in only seven fantasy points. But owners shouldn’t let his performance against a stingy Seattle secondary sway them from starting the receiver. He was shadowed by Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman for nearly the entire game and still managed a respectable performance. Green is a WR1 commodity, and he’ll be facing a Buffalo Bills defense in Week 6 that ranks 29th against the pass.

The Bengals are 5-0 and very much contenders thanks in large part to their offensive versatility. Sunday’s convincing performances from Dalton, Eifert and Green against the back-to-back NFC champion Seahawks, a team known for its defensive dominance, showed that the trio are must-starts every week.
