Nike Air Jordan Spike 40 PE Release Date, Pics and Retail Price
Nike Air Jordan and Spike Lee once again collide to bring sneakerheads one of the hottest shoes of the year, the Air Jordan Spike 40.
As most could have predicted, this latest offering from the interesting duo goes with a New York Knicks color scheme that is sure to catch the eye.
Here's a look at the release details, per Sneaker Bar Detroit:
| Wednesday, October 14 | $180 |
The "Game Royal" and "Total Orange" scheme hits on familiar tones for a Lee joint, which Nikeblog.com provided a look at:
It's impossible to miss the jersey-esque mesh on the side of the shoe, nor the bold, shiny look of the outline and translucent soles.
SneakerFiles.com stepped back to show a better look at both, which trumpets the eye-popping orange of the bottom:
It's all about the blue at the front of the shoes, though. The tongue matches the scaled siding, and the laces go all blue, too.
Nice Kicks provided the zoom on the angle:
It wouldn't be a classic-inspired iteration without Nike Air plastered on the back with a swoosh, of course. An up-close look from the back thanks to SneakersLove shows off the logo, plus the smooth orange on the inside of both the shoe and tongue:

There's a lot going on with this shoe, but it never feels like too much with such a reserved color scheme. It's a good thing, both eye catching and pleasing, whereas a different set of colors could have created a catastrophe.
The fact Jordan and Lee got together again is nothing but a good thing for the shoe game. This one comes just in time for the NBA season, too, so expect to see more than a few of these on television in the near future.
The right release at the right time, sneakerheads can get their hands on the Air Jordan Spike 40 starting Wednesday.
