Celtics' Isaiah Thomas Wants to Be New Muggsy Bogues If There's a Space Jam 2

Kyle NewportOct 10, 2015

There's no official indication that a Space Jam sequel is in the works, but that doesn't mean current NBA players can't start calling dibs on potential roles.

That should at least give the players a chance to appear in the movie should it be made at some point.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick "Swaggy P" Young has made it clear he wants to be in the sequel, per TMZ Sports, suggesting that the Tune Squad faces the Swaggy P-led "Swagstars." He even picked out some players who could be his teammates on the Swagstars.

Now, another role has been "filled."

Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas believes he would be the perfect fit for one role in Space Jam 2:

Of course, the Celtics guard is using the similarity in height as his qualification for the role. Thomas is 5'9", which is six inches taller than former NBA guard Muggsy Bogues (5'3").

That is a big gap between the two guards, but both are at least relatively small compared to the rest of the league. It's good to see Thomas is at least able to have some fun with his height and throw his name out there for a spot in a potential sequel.
