NFL Odds Week 5: Last-Minute Betting Guide, Spread and over-Under Analysis
Maybe it's just me, but I find Vegas lines more informative than any pregame show I've ever seen. Instead of listening to talking heads giving analysis such as "This is a big game for Team X," I'd rather listen to the opinions of those who are selectively putting their money where their mouth is.
As they say, money talks.
There's so much to learn from the way bettors and sportsbooks act throughout the week. Lines move due to both the public and sharp money while overlooked information comes out between matchups.
Gambling "edges" aren't always statistics like "Team X hasn't lost to Team Y in an October night game since 1957." Sometimes, they're just reminders that teams are coming off bye weeks, fatigue from traveling can take a toll on players and bad things happen when key contributors fall to injury.
We'll give you updated line movement, weather forecasts and injury reports, as well as spread picks in all of the games in Week 5, plus some over-under selections. It's going to be easy to enjoy this weekend.

Over-Under Picks
3 of 5
St. Louis @ Green Bay: Under 46.5
The Green Bay Packers were impressive against the San Francisco 49ers last week, but they only scored 17 points. Plus, as far as we've seen this season, the St. Louis Rams are more of a knock-down-drag-out team than the 49ers. Sure, Aaron Rodgers at home means points, but Green Bay's defense is also good this season. This game is going to be much closer to 17-13 than 27-23.
Jacksonville @ Tampa Bay: Under 43
It's really simple: Neither of these teams is good on offense. Expect multiple turnovers by both of these teams, which will result in field goals rather than touchdowns.
Washington @ Atlanta: Over 47
Quietly, the Atlanta Falcons are allowing a league-high amount of rushing touchdowns this season. If Washington can control the ground when it has the ball, this could turn into a shootout. I don't see how the Redskins can cover the Falcons' Julio Jones, who is the best receiver in football at the moment. Expect points—lots of them.

Injury Reports
5 of 5
Marshawn Lynch, RB, Seattle
Lynch will be out for the second week in a row due to his hamstring, which means his second-best rushing total of 2015 through five weeks will be his 41-yard total in Green Bay. Even in that game, 11 of those yards came on a single carry; he only managed to net 30 yards with his 14 other touches.
Lynch hasn't looked right all season, which is why the Seattle Seahawks haven't looked good on offense. Their entire scheme is based off their run game, as their passing offense is simple, and quarterback Russell Wilson is used a lot more like a scrambler than a pocket passer. Fred Jackson, coming off an injury to his ankle, will start.
Alshon Jeffery, WR, Chicago
Jeffery, who has already missed three games this season, is one of 16 Chicago Bears listed on the injury report this week. He's listed as questionable, so his status will likely come down to a game-time decision, with the Bears crossing their fingers for the health of his hamstring.
Buffalo Bills
Running backs LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams are going to miss the Buffalo Bills' game against the Tennessee Titans this weekend. Wide receiver Sammy Watkins is questionable because of a calf issue. The Titans have had two weeks to prepare for the Bills, who might only have Tyrod Taylor to combat their opponent.
Martavis Bryant, WR, Pittsburgh
Bryant is battling a knee issue, which may keep him out another week. He is coming off a four-game suspension, and with Michael Vick's freelancing ability, a height-weight-speed receiver could help the backup quarterback. Unfortunately, it appears Bryant won't play against the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football.
Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay
Adams has missed practice for the Packers, who haven't officially ruled him out. Considering the way Green Bay's season has been going, I doubt the team will push Adams too early. The difference between 4-1 and 5-0 is slight. I don't expect him to suit up.
