Raiders' Woodson Moves into 9th Place on All-Time Interceptions List
Oakland Raiders safety Charles Woodson recorded the 62nd interception of his career during Sunday's 22-20 loss to the Chicago Bears, tying Dick LeBeau and Dave Brown for ninth place on the NFL's all-time interceptions list, per ESPN Stats & Info.
Woodson's pick came at the perfect time, with the Bears holding a 19-17 lead and driving inside the Oakland 30-yard line just inside of the seven-minute mark of the fourth quarter.
On a 3rd-and-1 from the 23-yard line, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler threw for tight end Martellus Bennett near the end zone, but Woodson leaped in front of the pass and brought it back to the Oakland 18-yard line.

The Raiders then drove for a 41-yard field goal by Sebastian Janikowski to take a 20-19 lead right before the two-minute warning, but Cutler redeemed himself by setting up a 49-yard Robbie Gould field goal with just two seconds left in the game.
Now in his 18th NFL season, the 38-year-old Woodson has picked off at least one pass in each year of his career, including two already in 2015.
He had a career-best nine for the Green Bay Packers in 2009, capping off a remarkable four-year stretch (2006-2009) in which he picked off 28 passes in 62 regular-season games.
Despite playing just seven of his 18 seasons and 100 of his 242 regular-season contests (41 percent) for the Packers, Woodson recorded 38 of his 62 interceptions (61 percent) during his time in Green Bay from 2006 to 2012. He's spent the rest of his career in Oakland, first from 1998 to 2005 and now from 2013 to 2015.
With the all-time interceptions list bunched closely beyond the top two, Woodson needs just three more picks to tie Ken Riley (65) in fifth place, but first-place Paul Krause (81) and second-place Emlen Tunnell (79) are out of reach.
