Manning Becomes 2nd Quarterback with 100 Career Home Wins

Bleacher Report MilestonesOct 5, 2015

Despite a modest statistical showing, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning picked up the 100th home win as a starter of his regular-season career Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, joining Brett Favre (113 home wins) as the only players to accomplish that feat, per Fox Sports 910 Phoenix's Mike Jurecki.

Though his team hasn't been any worse for it, Manning continued his middling statistical campaign Sunday afternoon, completing 17 of 27 passes (63 percent) for 213 yards (7.9 per attempt) with one touchdown and two interceptions.

He didn't have any fumbles and only took two sacks, but his pair of interceptions allowed the Vikings to stay in the game until the Denver defense came up with a huge stop in the fourth quarter.

Manning's first interception came right before halftime, setting the Vikings up for a two-play, 27-yard touchdown drive that closed the gap to 13-10.

Later on in the fourth quarter, Manning was picked off by Vikings safety Harrison Smith, leading to a field goal that tied the game at 20.

As he's done so many times before, Manning bounced back to engineer the go-ahead scoring drive, but the Broncos could only manage a field goal and left nearly two minutes on the clock.

Fortunately for Manning, the fearsome Denver defense stepped up yet again, with a strip-sack of Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater clinching the 23-20 victory.

Even with Manning averaging just 6.3 yards per pass attempt on the season, the Broncos are in excellent shape to enter their Week 7 bye at 6-0, with the next two games coming against the Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns.

Of course, the Green Bay Packers are waiting on the other side of that bye, scheduled to face the Broncos in Denver on Sunday Night Football in Week 8.
