Rolle Comments on Injury
Sunday, Oct. 4
“Thank God nothing is broken,” Rolle said, per Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times on Oct. 4. "It could have been a lot worse than what it really is. The X-rays came back negative. I’m going to keep grinding and just keep on pushing. I plan on being back in no time.”
How Rolle's Return Could Impact Bears Secondary
Harold Jones-Quartey, an undrafted rookie out of Findlay, replaced Rolle in Week 4 and he has performed well since. However, he does not have the same play-making skills as Rolle.
In his first season with the Bears, Rolle entered Week 4 with 20 tackles in three starts. He has yet to record an interception or a pass defensed as part of a Chicago defense that ranks among the NFL's worst in nearly every category. From an individual perspective, Rolle ranks as the No. 30 safety in Pro Football Focus' grading metrics.
Rolle was far from an elite performer through the first few weeks, but he's also a veteran who generally knows what he's doing and can provide average production. His return will most certainly be welcomed by the Bears' defense and fans.
