Redskins RB Alfred Morris Hangs Out with Ushers for 20 Minutes Before Home Games
In addition to being a solid player, Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris is as cool as they come.
Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post observed one of the 26-year-old's pregame routines and asked him about it after the team beat the St. Louis Rams two weeks ago.
According to Steinberg, Morris began the tradition his rookie year—before he was known around the league. That season, an usher at FedEx Field asked him to chat.

He hasn’t stopped doing it since.
Here’s Steinberg:
"The group grew, and the conversations became a fixture of his game days. Morris learned all the staffers’ names. He kept in touch with them during the offseason. They started meeting up for all-you-can-eat crab and shrimp feasts at local restaurants. He calls them “my Stadium Fam,” and if you think there isn’t peace and happiness at FedEx Field on fall Sundays, you’ve never observed these 20-minute sessions, which start with laughter and end with a prayer.
"
“He acts just like he’s one of us,” Lorenzo Parker, one of the workers, said. “I just look at him like a regular friend. It’s nothing different.”
This isn’t some sort of publicity stunt. As Morris explained to Steinberg, he’s just a regular ol' "down-to-earth, hardworking, Average Joe."
It’s fun to watch studs like Morris play on Sundays, but it’s fulfilling to see that they’re people too.
