Anthony Starts vs. 76ers
Wednesday, Dec. 2
The Knicks announced Anthony was starting Wednesday night's game.
Anthony Key to Knicks' Offense
Anthony is averaging 22.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 41 percent from the floor this season.
Anthony is the driving force behind the Knicks offensive attack. The question is whether the organization will be able to put enough talent around him to make a serious charge toward a championship before he exits his prime. It's an ongoing process. However, the emergence of Kristaps Porzingis has certainly been a welcome surprise for the team early in the season.
The 31-year-old forward is already starting to see injury issues become a bigger factor. He missed more than 40 games last season, mostly because of knee problems that eventually led to surgery. Even though he was cleared for camp, it didn't eliminate the concern.
The Knicks don't have another consistent go-to scorer on the roster, so filling the offensive void would have been a collective effort.
