Nike Air Jordan 9 Retro 'Anthracite' Release Date, Pics and Retail Price
When it comes to the shoe game, sometimes a minimalist approach is better—a theory the Nike Air Jordan 9 Retro "Anthracite" will trumpet loud and clear Saturday.
With a reserved "Anthracite" and black-white color scheme, this new paint job on a classic grabs the attention and won't let go. Funnily enough, it's far from the most-hyped release, which will change once word spreads.
Here's a look at the release details, per Sneaker Bar Detroit:
| Saturday, September 5 | $190 |
Nike.com provided a look at the pair:
What doesn't catch the eye about this offering? "Anthracite" lines the upper and gets a wicked contrast from the white eyelets. There's branding on the midsole, back and tongue, and the bottom gives way to a black to wrap it all up.
Kicks on Fire looked at the shoes out in the wild on Instagram:
KickBackz did the same in a fitting environment, providing a stark contrast with the show-stealing shoes:
On Instagram, Villa took a close look at the back side, which features the logo, a bold "23" and the Jumpman for good measure:
How about one last all-encompassing look? The Athlete's Foot NC made it happen, complete with a look at the sleek bottom, trumpeting a can't-miss design:
Just as a shoe doesn't always need a ridiculous color scheme, some just don't need a particular backstory or inspiration to make heads turn or find success.
This one exists on its own, a stealth-esque look applicable both on the court and off. In a week of high-profile releases, it's odd a Jordan 9 retro continues to fly under the radar.
It seems a bit fitting, though, right?
Look for the Nike Air Jordan 9 Retro "Anthracite" to hit shelves Saturday.
