Shaquille O'Neal Will Be Featured on NBA TV's 'Shaq Week'
Shaquille O'Neal is one of the most dominant and recognizable figures in basketball history, and his accomplishments will be highlighted by NBA TV next week through the aptly titled "Shaq Week" beginning Aug. 31.
As seen in this video courtesy of Turner Sports, NBA TV's answer to Discovery's "Shark Week" will feature a healthy dose of the former Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat superstar:
According to NBA.com, NBA TV's entire upcoming week of programming will be dedicated to the Big Aristotle, as his greatest games and moments will air, in addition to episodes of blooper show Shaqtin' A Fool and Open Court.
Among the Hardwood Classics that will be featured are Shaq's 36-point performance in Game 4 of the 2000 NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers and his 34-point showing in Game 4 of the 2002 Finals against the New Jersey Nets.
The four-time NBA champion and three-time NBA Finals MVP touted "Shaq Week" on Twitter and made sure that all his followers knew about it:
"Shaq Week" promises to have Diesel fans across the world fixated to their televisions, with CBS Sports NBA writer Zach Harper seemingly being among them:
With career averages of nearly 24 points and 11 rebounds per game across 19 NBA seasons with six different teams, few players have made a bigger impact on the NBA than Shaq.
Not only is he one of the greatest players to ever take the court, but he may very well boast the biggest personality as well, and that factor is what makes him the ideal subject for an entire week of NBA TV programming.
