The red-hot Golden State Warriors have now won six straight games after Thursday's 120-100 victory over the Miami Heat.

Stephen Curry led the way with 29 points in the win. Yexel Lendeborg added 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Miami's dynamic duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo did finish with double-doubles, but the team-wide defensive struggles showed up once again as the Heat fell to 3-6 to start the season.

The Heat stormed out of the gate to a 14-4 lead four minutes into the first quarter, but that would be about as good as things got for them.

Golden State took its first lead early in the third quarter and outscored the Heat 38-23 in the frame. Curry sparked the run coming out of halftime by scoring 14 points in seven minutes during the third period.

The 29 points on the night for Curry moved him into 17th place on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

After starting the season shooting 12-of-30 through his first two games, Curry has been on a run over the past 10 days that is on par with his back-to-back MVP seasons in 2014-15 and 2015-16.

Curry has scored at least 29 points in four straight games. He is shooting 48.3 percent from three on 11.6 attempts per game during this stretch.

Supporting Curry was Lendeborg, who turned in another strong showing. The rookie led the Warriors in rebounds and tied for the team lead with three steals.

The Heat, meanwhile, are still trying to figure out how to be maximize their roster with Antetokounmpo and Adebayo. Thursday marked their third loss by at least 20 points through their first nine games of the season.

Even when Antetokounmpo and Adebayo are putting up numbers on the stat sheet, their overall contributions from start to finish are lacking. Curry outscored them on his own in the second half.

Antetokounmpo and Adebayo have recorded double-doubles in back-to-back games, but it still didn't make much of a difference in another ugly outing for the team because the supporting cast isn't helping.

While it's not unexpected that Miami would have some hiccups because there is some overlapping style between Antetokounmpo and Adebayo in how they play, the biggest flaw for the team right now is on defense.

After Thursday's loss, the Heat are down to 26th in defensive rating. They are only ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns and Chicago Bulls. Those four teams are a combined 5-26 this season.

The Heat are slightly better at 3-6, but head coach Erik Spoelstra needs to find answers quickly before this season slips away. They were playing the second night of a back-to-back after going to overtime against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, so perhaps some of this result can be attributed to fatigue.

But this game also followed a familiar pattern for the Heat that is why they find themselves among the worst teams in the NBA right now.

Miami will have two days off to figure things out before taking on the Kings in Sacramento on Sunday. The Warriors will look to extend their winning streak to seven games on Saturday when they host the Orlando Magic.
