Tyrese Maxey Addresses 76ers' Ego Concerns, LeBron's Impact Amid Hot Start, 'Competitive as Hell'
The Philadelphia 76ers have begun the LeBron James era 8-1 and atop the NBA standings, and the vibes seem to be good despite early concerns about having too many big egos on the roster.
NBC Sports Philadelphia reporter John Clark posted a video from the 76ers locker room on Thursday, where point guard Tyrese Maxey addressed some of that.
"We are competitive as hell. I see us playing hard, playing hard defensively, and playing together," he said. "That's who we are. That's not fluff. I found that out day one of training camp. We were moving the ball. All of the ego stuff and one ball stuff, LeBron is here and he has made everyone willing passers. When LeBron can be a willing passer, the rest of us can too."

The last four times James has been on a team that started the season at least 7-1, it has gone on to the NBA Finals.
The Sixers are coming off of a 112-106 win against Detroit on Wednesday night where James scored 13 points with 10 rebounds and eight assists. Maxey, who appeared to injure his right pinkie finger late in the game, is averaging 28.0 points per game and shooting 48.6% from the field.
