Brown had himself a night on Wednesday:
Then there was James, who set yet another record and surely has to hold the record for most NBA records held at this point:
That spoiled the regularly-scheduled, excellent performance from Cunningham.
The Sixers are now an impressive 8-1 to start the season and have assuaged any concerns that the new-look starting lineup might struggle to gel. One benefit of having Philly's impressive array of talent is that a different player can carry the load on a nightly basis. Wednesday was Brown's turn, though Embiid wasn't far behind.
While Philly is still working out some of the kinks in their halfcourt offense, the team's defense and transition scoring have been fantastic. The result has been that the Pistons (6-2) are the only team to beat them this season.
The Sixers exacted their revenge on Wednesday and staked their claim, for now, as the beast of the East.
