Hornets' Kon Knueppel to Make Season Debut vs. Nets After Hamstring Injury Recovery
Charlotte Hornets forward Kon Knueppel will make his season debut against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, the team announced.
Knueppel has been sidelined by a hamstring strain he suffered during offseason workouts in September. The injury forced the 21-year-old to miss the entire preseason and all eight of Charlotte's games to the start of the 2026-27 season.
The Hornets have struggled to find their footing so far this season. Despite winning three of its first four games, Charlotte has lost four consecutive games heading into their matchup against Brooklyn. The Hornets suffered a 124-91 loss against the Detroit Pistons on Monday and currently rank dead last in scoring offense.

Every NBA Team's Biggest Problem Right Now ð
The team's struggles can partially be explained by the absence of Knueppel and starting guard Coby White. Knueppel's return could help Charlotte get their season back on track, especially against a struggling Brooklyn team that has only won one of its seven games this season.
Knueppel was selected with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and dazzled during his rookie campaign. He earned NBA All-Rookie First Team honors and finished second in NBA Rookie of the Year voting behind Cooper Flagg. Knueppel finished the season with 273 made three-pointers, making him the first rookie to lead the league in three-pointers made in NBA history.
