Victor Wembanyama Teases NBA MVP Ambitions in New Video from '60 Minutes' Interview

San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has his sights set on winning the NBA MVP award this season.

In a preview of his appearance on Sunday's episode of 60 Minutes on CBS, Wembanyama tells Jon Wertheim he "should win" MVP this season when asked if he should have received the award at the culmination of the 2025-26 campaign.

Wembanyama has not been shy in campaigning for the league's most coveted individual hardware. He made the case last season after a victory over the Miami Heat, but to no avail because he finished third behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokić.

The 22-year-old didn't come out of the 2025-26 season empty-handed because he did win Defensive Player of the Year. He is off to a strong start so far this season with 25.0 points, 11.4 rebounds and 3.8 blocks per game in five starts.

Wembanyama's full 60 Minutes appearance will air Sunday evening on CBS.
