'Astonishing' Steph Curry Crossover on Luka Hyped by Yaxel, Players on Bench 'Calling Him a Sicko'
Stephen Curry enthralled his teammates with an ankle-breaking crossover of Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić during the Golden State Warriors' 112-95 home win on Friday night.
With around 6:25 left in the third quarter, Curry isolated Dončić in a one-on-one situation, sent him tumbling to the court with a crossover and knocked down a three-pointer to cut the L.A. lead to 69-63:
Rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg described the scene on the bench after the highlight-reel play, telling reporters, "There were people on the bench calling him a sicko. I don't even know. It was astonishing."
The Lakers appeared to be just as shocked based on their reaction when Dončić hit the deck:
Golden State trailed by as many as 25 points before battling back to win by 17. Per ESPN's Anthony Slater, the Warriors became the first NBA team in the past 30 seasons to accomplish that feat.
Curry led the way with a team-high 31 points on 11-of-23 shooting from the floor and 8-of-14 shooting from long range, while Brandin Podziemski added 21 points and De'Anthony Melton scored 16 off the bench.
Golden State improved to 3-3 with the win following an 0-3 start, and it made up for a season-opening, 127-105 loss to the Lakers on Oct. 21.
