Lendeborg drew attention for trash talking Dončić during the Lakers' season-opening win over the visiting Warriors last week.
The rookie said after the game he "lost all respect" for Dončić after what he described as the Lakers star complaining to officials about foul calls.
"I was telling him he sucks. He can't score on me. You talking, you can't score on me," Lendeborg said (h/t ESPN's Anthony Slater).
Lendeborg had previously told reporters he had been informed in the team's preseason finale he would be matched up against Dončić in the season opener.
Dončić ultimately finished the Lakers' 127-105 win having contributed 28 points on 7-for-18 shooting from the field.
He was held to just nine points on 1-for-5 shooting from the field (1-for-4 from deep) while committing two turnovers when matched up with Lendeborg, according to NBA.com.
Dončić is leading the NBA with 36 points per game so far this season. He's coming into Friday night's game rested after sitting out the latter end of a back-to-back Wednesday.
Lendeborg, who scored just 12 points in the season opener, has since turned his focus to offense. He's increased his shooting volume and efficiency while averaging more than 21 points per night in the Warriors' last three games.
Should focusing on shutting down Dončić limit Lendeborg's offensive contributions, the Warriors may need a big night from Stephen Curry in order to win when Friday's matchup tips off at 10 p.m. ET.
