Thunder Reportedly to Sign Former NBA Lottery Pick After Jalen Williams, Cason Wallace Injuries
The Oklahoma City Thunder are reportedly planning to sign free agent guard Ochai Agbaji, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Agbaji, the 14th pick in the 2022 NBA draft, has played for the Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets over a four-year career.
The former Kansas star joined the Knicks on an Exhibit 9 contract (one-year training camp deal) in September but got waived on Oct. 16.

Thunder Linked to Pels Players
The Thunder signed Agbaji after injuries to forward Jalen Williams (fractured left fibula and dislocated ankle) and guard Cason Wallace (torn labrum in left shoulder).
Agbaji has played 263 games (108 starts) over his four seasons, averaging 7.2 points on 44.8 percent shooting (33.9 percent from three) and 2.7 rebounds per game.
The Cleveland Cavaliers initially selected Agbaji in the draft but traded him to the Utah Jazz amid the blockbuster Donovan Mitchell deal.
He played a season-and-a-half with Utah before the Jazz dealt him to Toronto. Agbaji then went to the Nets in Feb. 2026 in a three-team deal that also included the Los Angeles Clippers.
Agbaji didn't see much preseason playing time with the Knicks, suiting up for 29 minutes over three games.
Now Agbaji gets a chance with the Thunder, who also recently signed Micah Peavy to a two-way contract.
OKC started the season 4-0 before falling at the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. The Thunder will now continue their road trip and play the 5-0 Houston Rockets on Saturday.
