Rudy Gobert Responds to Viral Video of LaMelo Ball's Apparent Frustration on T-Wolves Bench
Rudy Gobert isn't worried about an interaction with LaMelo Ball that turned some heads during Wednesday's loss to the Golden State Warriors.
"I'd like to see the images, see what it looks like," Gobert said Thursday, per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic. "In the moment I didn't feel like it was anything bad. And there's been bad things in the past. But that wasn't anything bad."
He was referring to a video of Ball appearing to show frustration toward the big man on the bench during the 119-114 loss.

"Sometimes people make an assumption and it's totally something different, with the angles and stuff," Gobert continued. "There might be some of that. But I didn't feel any animosity. There was some frustration, for sure. I was frustrated. They were frustrated. Those guys have been great."
It was a game to forget for Gobert, who finished with one point and four rebounds in 20 minutes of action. He missed all four of his field-goal attempts and was largely a nonfactor in the close loss.
On the other side, Stephen Curry erupted for 44 points, while rookie Yaxel Lendeborg added 26 points in support. It was Golden State's second straight win after it lost three consecutive games to start the 2026-27 campaign.
It has been largely the opposite for Minnesota, which started 3-0 but has now lost two in a row.
More concerning than the small losing streak is Anthony Edwards' knee injury, which is expected to sideline him for the foreseeable future. Edwards is Minnesota's go-to offensive option and someone who would be relied on to keep pace with fellow stars like Curry in games like Wednesday's.
His absence puts more of the onus on players such as Ball and Gobert to contribute and keep the Timberwolves in the middle of the Western Conference playoff picture.
They were unable to keep pace with Curry and Co. on Wednesday, and additional frustration may build if the losses continue. For now, though, Gobert isn't concerned about his latest interaction with Ball.
