76ers' Jaylen Brown Says 'Just Not Giving a F--k' Allows Him to Deal with Outside Noise
Philadelphia 76ers star Jaylen Brown explained how he manages outside noise without letting it affect him.
"I think in some ways I do," Brown said on Thursday's episode of The Old Man and the Three (42:48 mark). "Especially when it comes to character assassination or defamation, things like that where people insinuate things about you that are not true. Then you'll really get me going. But outside of that, people's opinions or whatever the case may be, it's just the art form of not giving a f--k. You can practice it, you can work on it, you can develop it and get better at it."

Celtics at Fault for JT-JB Beef? 🤔
"They move the bar constantly," he added. "You're chasing the bar that doesn't exist. Like, who is the best player in the world? Or, who is the MVP this year? All these different type of things, it's subjective. The media, there's the people that you need to vote for you to win these awards, sometimes they vote for their favorites or they vote for the storyline they want to win. It's marketing, it moves. If I'm chasing what moves, I'm never gonna be content. I'm never gonna be happy. So, I could care less what they think about me."
Brown is beginning his first season as a member of the 76ers after they acquired him in a blockbuster trade with the Boston Celtics on July 1.
The five-time All-Star departed the Celtics after spending the first 10 years of his career with them, as rumors have surrounded his exit from the organization as well as his relationship with former teammate Jayson Tatum.
Brown has helped Philadelphia open its 2026-27 campaign with a 4-1 record as the team looks to contend in the Eastern Conference.
He's averaging 20.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 44.2 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from three-point territory.
