One Upgrade Lakers Need ๐ค
Grimes' four steals were an example of why the Lakers signed him in the first place.
Lakers fans got the full Collin Sexton experience as the veteran guard poured in 21 points and lived up to his Young Bull nickname on defense.
In general, the game couldn't have gone much better for JJ Redick's squad.
Donฤiฤ is inevitably going to miss a few more games through rest or a minor injury here and there. He has never logged more than 72 appearances in a season. The supporting cast will have to step up when he's not available, and that's what happened on Wednesday night.
The performance of No. 5 overall pick Keaton Wagler at least served as a silver lining for the Clippers. He had 21 points and four rebounds off the bench. One of his four made field goals was a buzzer-beater at the end of the third.
Wagler's 12 free-throw attempts illustrated how aggressive he was in getting to the basket.
The Clippers could claim to having the single biggest highlight as well. Forward Isaiah Jackson reached back to collect a lob from Darius Garland and finish an alley-oop in the third.
The Lakers will head north to face off with the Golden State Warriors on Friday with aims of repeating their 22-point victory on opening night.
The Clippers will try to stop their three-game losing skid when they hit the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who will be without Anthony Edwards, on Friday.
