After Jalen Williams' Injury, Jim Jackson Says 'Kris Dunn Is Not a Dirty Player'

Los Angeles Clippers veteran guard Kris Dunn is facing a wave of backlash following Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams' devastating injury in Sunday's matchup, but one former player is coming to his defense.

Former NBA star Jim Jackson, who now works as a color commentator for the Clippers, pushed back against the narrative that Dunn purposefully intended to injure Williams.

"Kris Dunn is not a dirty player," Jackson said after the Clippers' 108-101 loss. "It's unfortunate that it has happened. We are sending prayers to him and his family and the organization."

Dunn appeared to shove Williams in the back as he went up for a dunk late in the fourth quarter, which caused him to land awkwardly and suffer a serious leg injury. He was stretchered off the court, and his teammates were visibly shaken in the aftermath.

"We're not doing great," Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault admitted after the game.

This is Dunn's 11th season in the NBA, and he's known as a hard-nosed defender who takes on the toughest assignment on a nightly basis. He will have some work to do to repair his reputation following Williams' injury.

The Clippers (1-2) will try to end their two-game skid when they meet the Los Angeles Lakers (3-0) on Wednesday.
