New NBA Rumors on Dalton Knecht Reveal 2 Potential Landing Spots After Lakers Release
The defending NBA champions are reportedly one of multiple teams interested in Dalton Knecht after the former first-round pick was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers.
The New York Knicks are "among the teams with interest" in a two-way deal for Knecht, SNY's Ian Begley reported Thursday.
Begley noted NBA insider Marc Stein previously named the Minnesota Timberwolves as another club interested in Knecht.

NBA insider Jake Fischer also said in a Bleacher Report livestream he believed the Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors were among the teams "looking at" signing Knecht to a two-way deal.
The Wolves, Kings and Raptors are the only three teams that currently have a two-way roster spot remaining, per HoopsRumors.
The Knicks currently have Kevin McCullar Jr., Tyler Nickel and Jaden Akins under two-way deals, HoopsRumors noted.
Knecht, the No. 17 pick of the 2024 draft, was waived Monday by the Lakers ahead of his third season with the team.
The Lakers previously engaged in Knecht trade talks with teams including the Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz before waiving him, according to ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel.
Knecht appeared in 78 games with 16 starts during his rookie season, during which the Lakers attempted to move him to the Charlotte Hornets in an ultimately failed deadline trade for Mark Williams.
He saw his playing time drop as he slipped out of the rotation during his second campaign under JJ Redick.
Redick said earlier this month he felt Knecht had ended up in a "tough spot" after the Lakers added wing depth over the offseason.
Knecht, 25, saw his production drop to just 4.2 points per game in his second NBA season but posted 19.5 points per game over six regular season and postseason G League appearances with the South Bay Lakers.
Any team interesting in adding Knecht could hope more G League time and a shot at a new offensive system will help the former Tennessee star build on his final two college seasons as a 20-point-per-game scorer.
