The Los Angeles Lakers crushed the Golden State Warriors 127-105 in their regular season opener on Wednesday in L.A.

The Lakers, who were 6.5-point favorites (per FanDuel Sportsbook), featured six new players in their nine-man rotation. This was also their first game since LeBron James, who played eight seasons in town, left in free agency for the Philadelphia 76ers.

L.A. gets a glowing early review for its first effort. Here's a look at some notable box score stats.

The highlight of the game was Luka Dončić's half-court buzzer beater to give L.A. a 66-52 halftime edge.

That shot capped a 32-19 second quarter. L.A. poured it on in the third, outscoring Golden State 36-16. All told, it was Los Angeles 68, Golden State 35 over the second and third quarters, and that put the Lakers up front 102-68 going into the fourth.

Lakers center Walker Kessler arrived in town this offseason via a sign-and-trade with the Utah Jazz and signed a four-year, $130 million deal. He began his Laker tenure by shooting a perfect 12-of-12 from the field, helping L.A. dominate the paint and make 57 percent of its field goals.

The Luka-Kessler combination was working, to say the least.

Austin Reaves re-signed with the Lakers for four years and $185 million, and he began his new deal with a solid 23-point outing on just 11 shots (10-of-10 from the line).

Meanwhile, this was not a good night for Golden State.

Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg, the No. 11 overall pick in the NBA draft, did impress at times and showed why he should be in the Rookie of the Year conversation.

He and Dončić also trash talked in this one. Lendeborg got a technical for his efforts.

The Warriors also got off to a great start, with Stephen Curry scoring 16 first quarter points.

However, it was all downhill from there.

Both teams play at home on Friday evening. L.A. will remain in town to host the Los Angeles Clippers. Golden State will look to rebound on Friday vs. the Memphis Grizzlies.
