Knicks Reveal Gold-Themed Uniforms in Video for 2026 NBA Opener vs. LeBron James, 76ers

The defending NBA champion New York Knicks revealed gold-accented uniforms for their season opener on Tuesday evening at home versus the Philadelphia 76ers.

The jerseys feature a championship patch above the last names, gold lettering and gold numbers. "Champs" is also embroidered in script on the jersey.

The Knicks won their first championship in 53 years. They went 16-3 in the playoffs, including a 15-1 stretch after falling behind two games to one to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs. New York then ripped off 12 straight wins, sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers in the process.

The Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs in the first two games of the NBA Finals before dropping Game 3. However, the Knicks overcame a 29-point deficit in Game 4 to win 107-106 thanks in part to OG Anunoby's legendary tip-in.

New York then took Game 5 in San Antonio, 94-90, behind 45 points from Jalen Brunson.

The Knicks now hope to go back-to-back. They return all five of their starters and most of their bench, although the Knicks lost center Mitchell Robinson in free agency to the Boston Celtics. New York did add a capable big man in Andre Drummond to replace him in the rotation.

The Knicks have some tough competitors in the Eastern Conference, including the 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics. They'll first see Philadelphia, which added LeBron James and Jaylen Brown to a team that made the second round of the playoffs last season.
