Darryn Peterson, Ace Bailey's Final Box Score Stats, Highlights from Jazz vs. Suns Preseason
The Utah Jazz played their final 2026 preseason game on Friday evening and beat the host Phoenix Suns, 119-116.
Utah's top picks in each of the last two draftsāDarryn Peterson (No. 2 overall in 2026) and Ace Bailey (No. 5 in 2025)ātook part in this matchup. Here's how they performed.
| Player | MIN | PTS | FG (3PT) | FT | REB | AST | STL/BLK |
| G Darryn Peterson | 26 | 13 | 4-12 (1-4) | 4-4 | 6 | 6 | 1/0 |
| G Ace Bailey | 21 | 12 | 3-3 (1-1) | 5-6 | 3 | 0 | 2/0 |
Peterson's has impressed at times this preseason, perhaps nevermore than when he scored 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting against the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 6.
On Friday, Peterson didn't have the best shooting night, but he had four points and an assist in the last 2:16 to help put this game away.
This floater put the Jazz up 111-109.
Twelve points on just three field goal attempts is awfully impressive, and that's what Bailey did Friday in his best preseason showing. He'll be a big asset off the bench in Utah this season.
As for the highlights, Peterson got Utah going with a quick baseline jumper just outside the line after a nice crossover.
Peterson soon found Bailey for an alley-oop dunk in transition:
The Suns tried to pull away in the third, when they went up by as many as 13 points. Peterson made some big plays to help prevent Phoenix from making it worse, though.
Utah ultimately went on a 28-9 run over a nearly 10-minute span in the third and fourth quarters and took a 104-98 lead with six minutes left in the final frame. The Jazz then took a late edge on the aforementioned Peterson bucket and kept Denver at arm's length from there.
The Jazz will begin the regular season on Wednesday at the Memphis Grizzlies.
