Jalen Brunson Details Wrist Injury Rehab in Video, Knicks Star Says He Had 9 Different Casts
New York Knicks star point guard Jalen Brunson discussed his rehab after undergoing wrist surgery following the team's 2026 NBA Finals victory.
Brunson explained that taking his off his cast was the highlight of his offseason on his Roommates Show podcast.
"I had nine different casts," Brunson said (2:56 mark). "I was able to take it off if I ran or worked out with it. So I had one for workouts, one for showering and obviously one for everyday use."
Brunson underwent left wrist surgery on July 7 after playing through a wrist injury throughout New York's 2026 playoff run that ended with a championship.
After recovering from the procedure during the offseason, the three-time All-Star eventually revealed that he was fully cleared to play on Sept. 24.
Brunson thrived in the playoffs during his 2025-26 campaign, averaging a league-leading 28.4 points per game on 46.5/36.3/84.6 shooting splits.
He earned Eastern Conference Finals MVP honors before he was named Finals MVP after recording 32.6 points, 4.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game during the Knicks' five-game series victory over the San Antonio Spurs.
This included a 45-point performance in Game 5 to clinch the title.
By hoisting the Larry O'Brien Trophy, the Knicks ended a 53-year championship drought.
Brunson will now look to help New York defend its title during the 2026-27 season, starting with a battle against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.
