A new era for the Philadelphia 76ers began on Thursday.

LeBron James made his preseason debut for the Sixers on Thursday ahead of his 24th NBA season. James took the court alongside his new teammates, Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and Tyrese Maxey, against the Brooklyn Nets.

James started for the 76ers and played most of the first half, but didn't play in the second half, as did Philadelphia's other stars. Considering it's the preseason, it's likely James, Embiid, Brown and Maxey won't get too much action as they gear up for the regular season.

While James didn't play too much, he seemed to find an early connection with some of his teammates.

Brown played in Philadelphia's preseason opener against New York, but Thursday marked the first time all four stars were on the court together.

Having added James and Brown this summer, the 76ers have high expectations and all the talent to compete for a title. Key for this year's squad will be health, though, as James is 41 years old and Embiid has a lengthy injury history.

The Sixers will have to manage their stars' playing time strategically to ensure they're ready to go for the playoffs, while also allowing them to find their identity throughout the season.

Thursday's game was a preview of what's to come in what should be an exciting era for the 76ers, who will look to bring home their first title since 1983.
