How LeBron's Polymarket Deal Compares to 76ers Contract Uncovered in Rumors Before NBA Season
On Sept. 16, Ryan Glasspiegel and Ben Horney of Front Office Sports reported that LeBron James' endorsement deal with controversial prediction market Polymarket is reportedly worth $15 million a year, far more than he'll be making with the Philadelphia 76ers this season ($3.8 million).
James isn't the only player working with prediction markets. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a shareholder in Kalshi, for one. Giannis, however, is set to make $58.5 million as a member of the Miami Heat in 2026-27.
James' payday with Polymarket ensured he wouldn't be taking a huge financial loss by signing a minimum contract with the 76ers. Of course, James has made quite a bit of money throughout his career.

Per Spotrac, the NBA legend has made $581.4 million in his career—and that doesn't include his off-the-court earnings. James made $52.6 million as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers last season but opted for a lesser deal to join the 76ers as he pursues another NBA championship.
