Joel Embiid Reacts to LeBron James Saying He Wanted to Help 76ers Star Win NBA Title
New Philadelphia 76ers forward LeBron James has said he wants to be the "final little piece" that helps Joel Embiid win a title and that the big man has "done everything in our league" except win that elusive championship.
Embiid appreciated hearing that from the NBA legend.
"You're talking about one of the greatest players to ever play, if not the greatest. To have him say that, in kinda validatesโnot so much what I've accomplished, but the way my peers think about me," he told ESPN's Malika Andrews (3:30 mark). "I'm at the point in my career where I just want, I need to win. Between everything that's happened, that would be a good ending for the city of Philadelphia and they deserve it."

Expectations are sky-high in Philadelphia after the offseason additions of James and Jaylen Brown. James' has said that a number of factors contributed to his choice of the Sixers in free agency, from Brown's addition to his friendship with Maxey and the team's championship-caliber roster.
But helping Embiid get over the hump also played a part.
"He's done everything in our league, and the only thing he has not done is win a championship. And I want to try to help him get that first one," he said last week on the Mind the Game podcast. "He has a city on his back. He's been 'The Process' for 10 years, 12 years, however long he's been there. But I think it's time we even get you deeper into The Process. And I hope that I can be, kind of, that final little piece that can help him get over the hump."
There are plenty of questions to answer with this new star-studded Philly team as they look to develop chemistry, establish roles and embrace the challenges and sacrifices that naturally come when several star players join forces.
But the main goal on everybody's mind is simpleโwin a championship.
