Lakers' New Signings Announced, Updated Roster & Depth Chart for Luka Doncic, LA in 2026 NBA Season

The Los Angeles Lakers added more depth to their roster ahead of the start of training camp this week.

The Lakers announced on Monday that they signed forwards William Kyle III and Cole Swider. In a corresponding move, the team waived guards Meechie Johnson and Chase Ross.

Following the new signings, Los Angeles' depth chart now looks like this:

PG: Luka Doncic, Collin Sexton, Bronny James

SG: Austin Reaves, Cameron Carr, Matisse Thybulle

SF: Quentin Grimes, Ziaire Williams, Dalton Knecht, Adou Thiero, Cole Swider

PF: Jake LaRavia, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Jarred Vanderbilt, William Kyle III

C: Walker Kessler, Kevon Looney

Kyle started all 32 games for Syracuse during the 2025-26 season before going undrafted this past summer. He averaged 8.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks, the latter of which led the ACC.

Swider also spent his final collegiate year at Syracuse in 2021-22 before signing a two-way contract with the Lakers as an undrafted free agent. He spent the next three seasons bouncing between the NBA and the G League with stints with the Miami Heat, Detroit Pistons and Toronto Raptors organizations. During the 2025-26 season, he played for Anadolu Efes of the Turkish Basketball Super League and averaged 7.6 points and 1.6 rebounds.

The Lakers will try to integrate their new faces over the next week before playing their first preseason game on Oct. 5 against the Sacramento Kings.
