Luka Doncic Posts Behind-the-Scenes Video of Lakers 'Minicamp' in Slovenia Before NBA Season

This summer, Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Dončić hosted a minicamp for his teammates in his home country, Slovenia.

On Friday, the six-time All-NBA First Team guard provided a behind-the-scenes look at the experience.

Dončić averaged an NBA-best 33.5 points per game in his first full season with the Lakers.

He's the clear top face of the Lakers now after LeBron James left in free agency for the Philadelphia 76ers. This squad has some promise thanks to the return of Austin Reaves and the additions of center Walker Kessler, wing Quentin Grimes and big man Sandro Mamukelashvili. First-round pick Cameron Carr also showed promise in NBA Summer League action and could be a strong asset off the bench.

The pieces are in place, and head coach JJ Redick likes how everything fits together on paper.

"I think we've always tried to give our players clearly defined roles. I think with this group, probably the first time in my three years here that I feel like the pieces actually fit together. So those roles probably get even more crystallized," Redick told reporters on Thursday.

"I'll give you the wing thing, like, there's a very clear ask for you to be able to play. And if you don't do those things, then you're not gonna play. That's just the reality. We've already had some of those conversations this week with our players.

"We have high, high confidence in these guys that they're going to buy into that. So, it's going to naturally create a lot of healthy competition. Everybody at some point, inevitably, will get a chance to impact our team and impact winning."

Of course, with this team having plenty of new faces, it's important for the squad to gel together on and off the court. Dončić, as the leader of this team, saw the importance of that and took lead on an important minicamp.

We'll see how this Lakers fit together soon enough when they open the season on Oct. 21 at home vs. the Golden State Warriors.
